Tonight was Haley's piano recital. Her teacher, Jeanette Froelich, is moving to Colorado in a few months because her husband was offered a job there.
Haley had memorized both piano pieces prior to the recital. She did a great job playing her pieces tonight. It is very hard to play in front of an audience! I should know! I had to play in several piano recitals when I was growing up. Your hands are shaking and it is hard to play the keys. Each student did a wonderful job. Jeanette talked about how the spirit had been present at times while the students played their music for her. She also talked about how powerful music can be in your life. I would have to agree with her on that. How many times have you heard a song and find yourself singing it hours later because it is stuck in your head?
We had plenty of family members attend the recital! Grandma Johnson came! Grandpa and Grandma Leonetti and Aunt Terra were also to make it from Vancouver!
I am so proud of Haley and grateful that she has stuck with piano this past year. It hasn't been easy to read the notes. It takes quite a while to learn the note names! She is doing pretty well considering she has been talking for less than a year!
