HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARA!What a beautiful day! Yesterday the weather wasn't the prettiest! Typical Washington weather- gray and cloudy. I prayed that today would be a day with out rain so everyone could enjoy Mara's birthday! I am grateful that Heavenly Father answers prayers.
My girls and I were able to attend the assembly at AJ today to celebrate Mara's birthday. It was an emotional day. When we walked into the gym the stage was beautifully with butterfly balloons and a plaque with Mara's picture for the school. Many students wore their purple Mara's team shirts or the color purple.
Jenna and Max read this cute little book to the audience. Jenna's voice is SO cute! I just love the way she talks! Both Max and Jenna are excellent readers.
Mara's Mom, Heather said a few words talking to the students at AJ. She asked them if they had ever experienced anything difficult in their life or if they thought they would experience anything difficult. Mara never gave up. She always tried her best even thought things were very difficult. This was the challenge that Heather left with the students.
Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Jackson gave a scrapbook filled with pictures, and thought to the Adams family from the students at AJ.
Erin Briones, with the help of others put together a slide show with video clips and pictures capturing moments from Mara's life. By the way, Mara's favorite color is pink! It was very well done. It was wonderful to see the support of family, friends and AJ for the Adam's family. I am grateful for the Adam's family and the example that they are!
