The Money Jar

Today we started the money jar. We have done something similar in the past and it proved very effective. Here is how it works. Each child in the family receives their own little money cup. Each time I find someone doing something good or being obedient they receive a coin. It could be a penny, nickel, dime, or quarter. When someone isn't choosing the right, not being kind, etc., I take a coin from the jar. At the end of the week the add up their coins. They will pay their tithing first and then if they have enough they may save it or purchase something from the store.

We just started tonight! I have already noticed how much better behaved the girls are. We have done time outs in the past and sometimes this didn't work very well. It also takes a lot of time the older they get. I will let you know how it goes!
